Long Goodbye 03:55
LONG GOODBYE Words & Music Mark Hilton © Copyright 2019
Every Christmas I go back to London And buy myself an ounce of coke Try to tell myself I'm young at heart But all my kids think I'm a joke Sad but it's true I lost my home Seven long years in the valley of tears And still she won't leave me alone My wife says my life is only grey skies But darlin' you're one long goodbye Now I don't live down in some basement Shuttered up from the ice and wind It's a tropical place with a friendly face Where I can forget all my sins Sad, but it's true... Takes two to tango So why won't she let go? Back in the day we were friends But lovers don't ever forget They hang on to the end Now there's a new guy You got some blue sky So why don't you cut me some slack? If I don't mean anything Who put the knife in my back? Every birthday I miss all the children All the wedding days I won't attend The vows that get sworn Babies get born And somehow the broken hearts mend Sad, but it's true...

CAN'T TAKE IT Words & Music Mark Hilton © Copyright 2019
Gonna stick my enchilada in the microwave I ain't thinkin' about the money but all the time I'd save Come on over in my kitchen honey Little Bobby Johnson got the blues Well the bonny little prince got caught up in the curls They're gonna kick his ass for messin' with the girls When you got a silver spoon you better Stick it where the sun ain't gonna shine I've heard it all before, But I can't take this shit no more Can't take it, can't take it, can't take it no more I ain't gonna take it any more Can't take it, can't take it, can't take it no more - I can't take this shit no more Yeh the great southern land is goin' up in flames The government is tryin' to say it ain't because of climate change And you wonder why we're takin' to the streets Next thing they're gonna say you ain't got no right To say what you think about the great Australian Bight I used to lean to the left, but now the whole shebang is outta sight I've heard it all before... Everybody's getting' angry, gettin' crazy out there We're goin' to rack and ruin, and nobody really cares 'bout the brothers and the sisters workin' day and night to keep it all on keel We got the green ones, the blue ones, the brown ones, the yellow ones I ain't got the money but somebody tried to sell me one I like it transcendental but I think I'm goin' mental – it's unreal I've heard it all before... I flickin' off the box, 'cos I can't believe the news They're tryin' out crystal meth on all the kangaroos Come on over in my kitchen honey Little Bobby Johnson got the blues I don't know if you know it but I used to be a fan of Elmore James Everyday I have the blues, I'm a sad boy Gonna wake up in the mornin', I believe I dust my broom Gonna shake your moneymaker, I'm a bad boy

Checkin' Out 03:12
CHECKIN' OUT Words & Music Mark Hilton © Copyright 2019
All my friends are smokin' cigarettes Might as well Used to be addicted It's a livin' hell All my friends are digging graves In the summertime It's hard to find the words When you've lost your mind Gotta shovel all this dirt And get back to work Nobody ever told me it could end like this But some things you can't resist Gonna get some truck stop food And have a feast Finger lickin' chicken And a Taco with some other beast Fill 'er up with diesel buddy I'm checkin' out Gettin' on the interstate And heading south Take this sucker off the grid And follow my nose Maybe I can find myself a one horse town And see where it goes Gonna shake your bedposts one more time Honey are you up for that? Saddle up your donkey, I ain't turnin' back Another Margarita Senorita, make it a double Think it's kickin' in Smokin' like a train And you're stayin' thin All my friends are smokin' cigarettes That ain't fair Gonna roll myself a big one And smoke it like I just don't care Oh yeh.

LIKE AN ANGEL PISSED UPON MY TONGUE Words & Music Mark Hilton © Copyright 2020 Mary said to me “get down on your knees” But I don't need to believe, watch your sacred heart bleed I can't follow your creed, leave me be I haven't tasted anything so good since I was young It's like an angel pissed upon my tongue It's a lockdown tonight, shut the door, snuff the light It's one hell of a trip and I need one thing on my lips I would kill for a sip, so leave me be I haven't tasted anything... Pedro pulls up his sleeves Grabs my good friend, that gringo called Steve “Speak the lingo or leave”, then he pulls out a gun But Steve can't stop at one, “leave me be” I'll take a shot and I'll forget the bad things that I've done It's like an angel pissed upon my tongue I haven't tasted anything...

Exactamundo 03:30
EXACTAMUNDO Words & Music Mark Hilton © Copyright 2019 Exactamundo Pretty querido You know the reason we came here Is nothing to do with love Exactamundo I don't believe you any more You don't have to love me We don't have the time I don't have the answers I know you don't mind Exactamundo... I saw you in heaven You worked your way up The land of illusion Is sometimes enough I long for someone to hold me down under the sea The waves crash over me now Please darlin' please Exactamundo... You move like the ocean You sing me to sleep Your cheap serenade A treasure to keep Exactamundo...

DOWN IN ENSENADA Words & Music Mark Hilton © Copyright 2019 We went down to Ensenada Just a day from San José Not a care in the world Laughing like drunken fools With your hand on my arm We were on our way So we stopped in Tijuana Think they saw us comin' for miles So young and free On one Rosarito beach I let go of your hand I went off for a while No way to know, what lay up ahead It's a day at a time, that's what we said We made it down to Ensenada But we broke, along the way Some kinda pain comes over My lazy and careless heart If there's anything I could do Or somethin' I could say No way to know, what lay up ahead It's a day at a time, that's what we said Now we're back down in Ensenada Just a day from San José So much has changed in the world But I'm still a fortunate fool With your hand on my arm It all fades away

ACAPULCO HANGOVER Words & Music Mark Hilton © Copyright 2019 Morning sun comes like a gun Something tells me I'm alive Last night we had too much fun In that sleazy dive Margarita you're my queen Showed me things I'd never seen In your eyes I disappear So come over here Where's my coffee, where's my mind? Acapulco got me bad Bloody Mary please be kind I don't do sad Margarita you're my queen Gently on your breast I lean In your eyes I disappear I had no fear Where's my money, where's my boat? Acapulco took the lot Bloody Mary please down my throat She's all I've got She's all I've got

MY MULE WON'T OBEY ME Words & Music Mark Hilton © Copyright 2019
My mule won't obey me, the children they hate me My wife ran away with Manuel The car's repossessed, I can't handle the stress My paradise turned into hell Somebody broke the TV, I can't follow the score There's a smell in the fridge that's gettin' hard to ignore My mule won't obey me no more Doin' all that I can Stick my head in the sand Hey Amigo, you got some other plan? Lorenzo he made me, Maria betrayed me My mule won't obey me at all The yard's overgrown, my cover is blown I got no excuse, so I stall It used to be so easy, I was popular then Now I'm watching my back, it's just a matter of when My mule won't obey me no more Doin' all that I can... My boss never paid me, the messenger played me I’m stuck on a rock in the cold The truck was a decoy, and I was the new toy My mule won't do what he gets told My ladder is so shaky, it's a long way to fall I can't control the cactus, now it's up in the hall I can see the demolition man knock on my door My mule won't obey me no more Doin' all that I can Now the the shit hit the fan Hey Amigo, you got some other plan?

CHIQUITA FELICE Words & Music Mark Hilton © Copyright 2020 Oh chiquita Felice, when you grow up and get old Don't let your heart ever grow cold Your mother is teaching all day and sewing all night I know I'm a special guest Guess I should do my best Falling out of the bed, feet on the floor I ain't got the will to get dressed Feel like a man possessed Oh chiquita Felice... I made you some food, so come to the table, it's warm I'm looking for work at home You're too young to stay here alone I'll read you a story, get the news off my mind Those adult ideas you don't need The violence, corruption and greed Oh chiquita Felice... She's chasing a cricket, head over heels and she laughs I'm dragging my carcass around My limbs make unusual sounds They've opened the borders, a shelter, a place to restart Now a sickening swing to the right And mothers cry out in the night Oh chiquita Felice...

My Bananas 03:14
MY BANANAS Words & Music Mark Hilton © Copyright 2020 I woke up in a dream, it broke my heart I wanna travel back to the very start Wrap my arms around you, hold on tight Now I gotta stay away, it don't seem right Why me? They're my bananas and you're up my tree Why me? Well I just wanna be free, I just wanna be free I tried to shoot the breeze, but they shot my horse They're gonna lock me up, for thinking all my thoughts So I'm going to Jamaica in my mind I'd like to take 'ya, but I ain't that blind Why me?...It's all about me The wind's got a bite There's no land in site They let me off the boat, I'm feeling kinda funny Was it the nautical cuisine, or the spider in the dunny? Send the broken and defeated to the dark side of town There's talk about a wall, it's sure to tumble down I'm throwing all the rocks off my land I'm gonna build a house, a place so grand With 27 rooms and an ocean view Then maybe once a year you could stay there too Why me? They're my bananas and you're up my tree Why me? You're such a misery Why me? They're my bananas and you're up my tree Why me? Well I just wanna be free, Why me?

about

From a beachside balcony in Danang, quarantined Marco revisits his globetrotting glory days in a Hunter S. haze. Beginning in a Balearic hideaway, this sidestepping Kerouac ramble recounts a road trip from San Francisco to Acapulco - an introduction to drunken angels, seductive demons and the shaping of a restless soul.

Will he survive the future shock?

There's Ranchera and Tex-Mex sauce on this enchilada. It's a cool Bossa cruise and a rocky Rumba romp, for spirits set free. We'll stop off in seedy bars along the way, visit dark alleys and sunlit esplanades.

High times down below, so get on board.
